Family Group Projects

Hello all!  

We are back in business and excited to welcome volunteers back into our community!  We have worked diligently to keep both our community and volunteers safe.  At this point in time, our community has requested that we send back our volunteers.  These will be true acts of love and kindness as usually our community works alongside our volunteers but we have asked that they also socially distance.

All of our projects are outside.  We are hoping that groups of people that have been sheltering in place together or already getting together will take on these projects.  Our community leaders will meet with the group (outside, with a mask on, socially distanced) and explain the project, and then let the volunteers do the work. Please consider filling one of these four needs!

Anna:

Anna is a very supportive resident of the 9th Precinct. She is in need of assistance (ASAP) getting some tall grass taken down, as well as dealing with some of the dumping that has been happening. She is making a donation to Camp Restore for the work done.

MaryLou: 

Blight removal request: MaryLou is 93 and works hard to keep her neighborhood looking nice. She is in need of some help removing blight on a house that is an eyesore in the neighborhood.

Wendy:

Wendy is one of our fantastic community leaders. She heads up and maintains a beautiful community garden in the neighborhood. Due to Covid19, many of her volunteers that help with the garden have not been able to do so. She is looking for people to come help her with some simple maintenance on the garden.

George:

George is another one of our fantastic community leaders. He works hard to keep his neighborhood looking nice and is maintained. George has a house on the block in need of blight removal.

*Blight Removal – Blight is when people do not care for their property for months or even years.  These jobs can range in size from small to large.  Even if a team starts the clean up and another comes to finish, that is great!
