Our campus has been buzzing with campers over the past few weeks! Coming from churches or small groups in Indiana, Illinois, and right here in Shelby Township, Michigan, our groups have all been working hard to support our neighbors in Detroit. Shepherd’s Gate Church worked with many community members to glean up gardens, empty lots, and street corners. They met many community leaders and formed connections in our neighborhood. After that, Emmanuel Lutheran Church from Fort Wayne built benches with Ms. Sandra Turner-Handy and worked on our outreach houses. Their hard work helped to almost finish the siding on our blue house! Finally, Bethel Lutheran worked on many community projects as well, helping with landscaping and cleanups in our neighborhood. Their work is greatly appreciated. We are grateful to everyone that has sacrificed their time this summer to restore Hope in our neighborhood! Enjoy some photos of our recent campers and the work they accomplished during their stay.
