After more than a year our dorm rooms are almost finished! So many of our local volunteers and partner churches have spent days working in our dorms and we are getting closer to a completed project each day!
All fall and winter, volunteers and campers worked tirelessly to finish the drywall in the new dorms! This was a seemingly never-ending project with all the mud and sanding, but we finally finished!
This week the ceilings in the new rooms are being painted and the new doors are being installed! Once this is finished we can get our final inspection on the rooms and paint! We are so excited for all the campers we can now welcome to Detroit! Although this process took much longer than any of us anticipated, God’s timing is always better than ours!
To completely finish the dorm rooms and get them ready for campers we still need a little help! We are hosting workdays this Saturday, February 22 and next Saturday, February 29 to clean the dorms and get them set up for campers! Work could include cleaning walls, dusting, mopping, painting, moving furniture, and moving beds and mattresses. Come for as much time as you want; all hands are appreciated! Please RSVP to [email protected] or on our Facebook event!
A huge thank you to Jon Duff who is leading the construction process and everyone who has worked on our dorms! There are too many people to possibly try to name all of you, but know you are so deeply appreciated and we could not do this without your support!
If you are interested in a service trip to Camp Restore Detroit and want to stay in our brand new dorms, please let us know! We are open year-round and love camper groups of all ages!
