I had a Monday night to remember on April 21, 2014. One of my wonderful friends gifted me a ticket to the 2014 Big Easy Music Award show presented by Gambit Magazine.
This experience was one of a kind. I was a part of what makes New Orleans great, the talented people that are the fabric of this city being honored for their notable achievements. I sat shoulder to shoulder with the 2014 Performer of the Year Award recipient and stood in the refreshment line with world renowned Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews.

What really made this star studded night for me, was seeing the great musicians in our city honored for what they bring to the musical world and the community of New Orleans. Many were acknowledged for their charitable and community oriented initiatives. That is what I feel makes the New Orleans community a family. Our residents using their talents to help those around us and our home.

I hope many who come to visit us at Camp Restore have a chance to dig into the soul and culture that makes us Naturally N’awlins Darlin’!
