Campers during COVID? Our God is Good!

Blogs, News from Detroit, The Latest

Last year at this time, we were getting ready for our College Week, preparing to have students from four different colleges serving here in Detroit. We had no idea that they would be our last group of overnight campers for a whole calendar year. Over the last year, our community has felt the pain of COVID-19 in real and intense ways, but we are so excited to be preparing for overnight campers once again! Our staff has been working diligently to find safe ways to reopen camp overnight and it is finally happening!

This weekend, we have a small group of campers coming from Illinois to serve with us! We are so excited to see all the ways God uses our volunteers during their stay. Please pray for our team as they prepare for their trip to the great city of Detroit, for our community as we serve together and for the safety of all during our time together.

Not only do we have incredible campers coming this weekend, but camp is quickly filling up for the summer! We are almost completely booked for June and July, and we have different groups throughout the spring months. We can’t wait to have overnight volunteers with us again and watch God in action! Not even COVID can stop our God, amen? Amen!
