December 22, 2012- Well, it’s the time of the year when we wish each other Merry Christmas, shop and make plans to celebrate Christ’s birth with our family and friends. In my family there are a lot of people we consider family, but are not related to us. We like to call them “family by choice”.

Trinity-Claiborne: Six Months of Progress

On Easter Sunday 2012, Trinity-Claiborne in the Lower Ninth Ward was rededicated after a two-year restoration effort. Six months later, Trinity is bustling with activity with several local nonprofit partners making use of the facility throughout the week in service to the community.

Walt told me too of a couple whose house is on stilts – 17 feet off the ground. They lost their stairs. Since the couple is in their 80s they have a couple of different ways to get up to the house. There is a hand pulled elevator, and there is a ladder.
