Meet Sandra Turner-Handy, a prominent leader in our community and one of our board members. As a resident of Detroit for 63 years, Sandra’s passion for this city is immeasurable. We recently asked her a few questions and this is what she said:
What do you wish others knew about Detroit?
“Detroit is and always has been a family city, even with a few bumps we maintain our sense of community and love for the city.”
How have you seen God at work in your community?
“God is at work in the community through the many hands that he placed on community members to do his work and the many blessings that he sends to this community such as CRD, volunteers, community leaders, etc.”
What is your hope for Detroit?
“That everyone’s quality of life is raised and we continue to love each other and our communities.”
We love Sandra and we are so thankful for the many ways she serves as the hands and feet of Jesus here in the 9th Precinct. #handsandfeetindetroit
