Rescue Ranch
Rescue Ranch in Belle Chasse, LA cares for horses that have been neglected or abused, allowing them to be adopted once they are rehabilitated. Many of the horses were abandoned when Katrina hit, so the owners of the Ranch took them in.
This summer Camp Restore in New Orleans has been sending volunteer groups to help Rescue Ranch in their mission. There, the volunteers help landscape to improve the grounds. They’ve mowed the grass, pruned trees and cleared brush, in addition to expanding a pigpen and making other adjustments to accommodate the Ranch’s growing success.
