Camp Restore – New Orleans Tour
Home sweet home at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and School in New Orleans East.
The week starts off with Monday-morning orientation. Here Walt gives some pointers.
Then it’s off to worksites across the New Orleans Metro area!
After a day of volunteering, it’s time to come back to our 20 showers to get cleaned up quick for supper.
Our main shower area features 14 shower suites, each with a private changing room and shower.
Our dining hall is generously shared by Prince of Peace congregation… from time to time Kim, the organist, will do an impromptu concert for our volunteers on the second-largest exposed-pipe organ in New Orleans.
For volunteers looking to unwind or gather together to reflect on their day, we have several lounges as well as the dining hall where gatherings can take place.
Free WiFi is accessible throughout the camp.
For our competitive and/or exercise-conscious volunteers, we have a full basketball court out back!
In case you find yourself in a laundry dilemma while at camp, we’ve got you covered.
Finally, when it’s time to get some rest, our wood-frame bunk beds are not a bad place to get some sleep, as nearly 25,000 volunteers can attest to so far. Check out all the personal messages of encouragement that have been left over the years, and leave your own!
