New Orleans East Tornado

News from NOLA, Photo Galleries, The Latest

Shortly before noon on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, an EF3 tornado touched down in New Orleans East and left several miles of destruction in its wake as it followed Chef Menteur Hwy to the east, passing within three blocks of Camp Restore – New Orleans.

Update: March 6, 2017: In cooperation with the City of New Orleans and fellow local nonprofits and churches, we are now entering the long-term recovery phase. We invite volunteer groups to consider joining us in this work and begin planning your trip here.

If you were affected by the tornado and need assistance, please contact us here and we will follow up with you as soon as possible.

Donations are being accepted online and by mail; please enter “New Orleans East Tornado Relief” in the comments field or check memo line. Please mail checks to: Camp Restore – New Orleans, 9301 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70127.
